These are another tea-time snack and it is made of potato mostly you many found in tiffin centers or evening street foods. It is very popular in street stalls and these are made in many homes especially during the monsoon season.

To make this recipe very good, you have to do follow all the below ingredients and instructions/tips. To make this recipe, sliced potatoes are dipped in chickpea batter and deep fried in hot oil. Pakora is a general term used in north India for pakoda or bajji.

Ingredients (240 ml of cup used):

  • 2 medium-sized potatoes.
  • 2 tsp of rice/corn flour.
  • Salt as needed.
  • 1/2 cup of besan.
  • 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
  • Oil as needed.
  • 1 pinch of turmeric.
  • 1/2 tsp of red chili powder.
  • 1/4 tsp of garam masala.
  • 1/2 tsp of ajwain.
How To Make The Recipe:
  • First, wash aloo in freshwater peel and slice them to thin slices. Keep them in water aside.
  • Making of batter by using all of the ingredients above mentioned except oil.
  • And the batter must be of a medium consistency(neither too thick nor too thin).
  • If you are unable to coat the potatoes very well, simply pour a little amount of water and slightly thin down the batter.
  • ON the stove and heat oil until hot enough. You can drop a small portion of this batter in oil and check whether the oil is heated or not.
  • If the batter ball should rise well in the oil, then dip each slice in the batter and deep fry them until it turns the golden color.
  • Drain aloo pakora on a tissue.
  • Finally, Hot aloo pakora/potato bajji is ready to serve.
