Tandoori chicken is the world most popular well-known chicken starter and it firstly comes from Mughlai cuisine. It is very soft, flavorful, delicious and juicy that's why tandoori chicken stole the hearts all over the world.this recipe is done in microwave oven or stove. This recipe is a mouth-watering delicious chicken recipe. This recipe is also called as murgh tandoor or tandoori murgh. The tandoori chicken recipe is very spicy but not hot. Kids can also enjoy this recipe. This recipe uses no food color or butter, it is a low-fat chicken starter.

INGREDIENTS (240 ml of cup used):

  • 1/2 kg chicken (approximately 500-700 grams)
  • 1/2 cup of yogurt
  • 3/4 tsp of ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp of garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp of pepper powder
  • 1 tsp of red chili powder
  • 1 tsp of coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of turmeric
  • 1 tsp of kasuri methi
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • 1-1/2 tsp of oil
For grilling:
  • 1 tsp of oil
For color:
  • 1 tsp of red chili powder
  • 1 tsp of oil

HOW TO MAKE THE RECIPE:

Marination for tandoori chicken:
  • Firstly, take a bowl and add thick yogurt. if you don't have it, then line a cloth over a sieve. Pour 1 cup of curd. Make a knot and hang it to a nice hook for 45 minutes.
  • Next add garam masala, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili powder,kasuri methi, turmeric, pepper powder, and coriander powder.
  • Then Pour oil and lemon juice as well.
  • Stir everything well. The marinade has to be thick. Taste it and add needed salt and chili powder(as needed)
  • Make deep gashes decently over the chicken and add it to the bowl.
  • Totally marinate the chicken neatly into the gashes.
  • Cover and keep aside for at least 5-6 hours. If you may reduce the marination time, the chicken will not turn soft and juicy.
How to make tandoori chicken:
  • For the stove method, follow the instructions.
  • Firstly, Preheat the oven to 240C for at least 15 minutes.
  • place an aluminum foil on the tray and grease it well.
  • Place the chicken pieces oven the foil. If you may use a wire rack place a tray under it to hold the drippings.
  • grill the chicken for at least 15 minutes.
  • Mix together 1 tsp of oil and 1 tsp of red chili powder.
  • Then baste the red chili oil over the chicken. grill it for 5 minutes.
  • Turn/flip the chicken to the other side and baste the red chili oil.
  • Grill for another 5-10 minutes
  • And in the last minutes, you can move it to the topmost rack.you can also burn a charcoal piece and place it in a small cup. Cover with a large utensil. Allow it to smoke a minimum of 5-7 minutes.
  • Finally,restaurant-style tandoori chicken is ready to serve with lemons and onions.
