RAVA CAKE RECIPE | SEMOLINA CAKE RECIPE IN PRESSURE COOKER 

Semolina cake is easy to prepare. Everyone can try these recipe.No cake mixers are required for this cake. It can be prepared in the Pressure cooker and no microwave oven is required. Rava cake recipe is similar to Basbousa which is a traditional Sweet cake recipe in Middle Eastern. The only difference is that they add flavoured sugar after the cake is fully completed. The rava cake absorbs the sweetness, flavour and tastes really awesome.

I used fine rava flour to prepare this recipe.Semolina/Rava needs a little more moisture than usual. Because Rava absorbs milk after mixing the batter. So you need to add a little bit of milk until the batter turns semi pouring consistency. I don't prefer artificial flavours.so I didn't add vanilla essence. added cardamon powder instead. You can add your preferred colour. Orange zest and lemon zest are the natural flavouring ingredients.

INGREDIENTS for RAVA CAKE:

  • 225 grams (1-1/4 cup ) of Bombay Rava
  • 125 grams of melted butter
  • 125 grams of powdered sugar
  • 1tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 250 ml milk
  • Pinch of Yellow food colour
  • 1/4 cup nuts(chopped)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR RAVA CAKE RECIPE:

  • Take a bowl, and add melted butter, powdered sugar and mix well.
  •  Add baking powder, food colour, cardamom powder and stir well.
  • Add Rava/Semolina and mix again. 
  • Lightly pour a little amount of milk until the batter turns into pouring consistency.
  • Leave the batter for 12-15 minutes.
  • Rava absorbs the moisture and becomes hard.
  • Again lightly pour a little amount of milk until it turns into semi pouring consistency.
  • Grease the inner side of the pan with butter.
  • Pour the batter into the tin add nuts(chopped)
  • Put a salt layer or sand layer in a pressure cooker and pre-heat for 5 minutes.
  • Place the cake pan on the sand and cover it with cloth/lid.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes.
  • Finally, wait for 5-10minutes.turn the cake up and down on a plate.
  • Enjoy Semolina cake with your family and friends, enjoy it.
